Screen printing

We used our mood boards to do an A5 piece based on the tour de france and once i had drawn a design i used different sized black pens to block out to shapes or shade them, i used different methods to try and get depths into the design such as small and large dots, cross hatching, thin and thick lines and a few other methods. Once I finished my design i went and photo copied it onto a piece of tracing paper and gave it to the printing technician so that it could be put onto a screen.
I then got to print onto what ever i wanted and i tried many different things and most of them turned out well, i only had a few problems where i print didn't come out right and this was mainly due to not putting enough pressure on or pulling the pigment through too many times or even printing on something that isn't necessarily meant to be printed on.
I quite enjoyed doing this process and think it worked rather well. Here is my original design before i put it on tracing paper.

Below are some images from the process and some of the results as well as pictures from using procion dyes.

Health and safety; Gloves and aprons must be worn. Clean printing area before and after you use it, Wash away any unwanted dyes or inks. Wash hands before leaving the print room.
