Embroidery

I wanted to use my sewing machine to do some embroidery but unfortunately it's not working so I'm having to sew by hand, this means that something that should take 10 minutes on a machine is taking nearly an hour doing it by hand as I'm not that great at sewing. I also wanted to use some water soluble stabiliser I bought as I'd seen some good ways to use it but as I can't use my sewing machine I'll just have to wait until I have access to another one. I want to add a bit more to this but I'm going to wait until I can use a machine as it will give me better results.

Alice In wonderland

My tutor got a chance to go to the exhibition at the Tate Liverpool in 2011-2012 and she sent me some pictures, she also has an older edition of Alice's adventures in wonderland and through the looking glass so she sent me the pictures from that. The images from her book are slightly better quality than mine. I really wish I'd had a chance to see the exhibition, It had work from  Salvador DalíRené MagrittePeter Blake, and Yayoi Kusama.

Research

As I am looking at Alice in wonderland for my FMP I need some primary research, The two artists I have chosen to look at don't have any work currently on display so I am having to look at their focus which is obviously Alice, so I went and looked at things that were mentioned in the book and things that linked to the book, I ended up having a brief look at Disney and was only able to get a few pictures as there wasn't much in there, I also got a few pictures of pocket watches, flowers, fancy dress, and a few others. I wasn't able to get any pictures of rabbits so I took a photo of a planter in the garden that has two rabbits on the front, also the rose bush in the garden hasn't flowered yet so I got a few pictures of camellia which looks slightly like the rose bush in the illustration from the book. I've taken pictures of all of the illustrations from the book I have and I've taken pictures of the illustrations by Yayoi Kusama. I've only added a few photos as there were too many, so there are a few of  the illustrations from both books and a few other primary photos.
